Quality Assurance Technician
The primary function is to ensure manufacturing facility is compliant with Federal, State and Local Regulatory and Statutory code. In conjunction meeting customer required Food Safety and Quality expectations, by validating and verifying the Food Safety Quality Management System. Candidate is responsible for establishing, implementing, and maintaining the measurements and procedures necessary to assure that products and facility meet or exceed Food Safety Plan.
Candidate must have the ability to work in a collaborative team atmosphere and engaging in a professional manner with Management team, Production Personal, and State, Federal, 3rd party Auditors.
Essential Job Functions
- Provides oversight and monitoring of operational processes for compliance with policies and procedures to include, but not limited to, GMP, SSOP HACCP, SQF, and other regulatory and company pre-requisite programs, audits (internal and third party), and supporting company or customer QA programs
- Oversee data administration for all QA related tasks
- Prepare, implement, and maintain company compliance for FSMA
- Help answer customer questions and provide accurate information to Marketing and Customer Service
- Communicates closely with production, purchasing, sales and R&D regarding acceptance, rejections and disposition of raw materials and finished products and is accountable for monitoring and ensuring a high standard of food processing sanitation at the pre-operational and operational stages of production
- Provides necessary support to operations to ensure consistent, high quality products are produced and maintained as well as proper costs control, food safety, sanitation, and safety performance
- All other duties as assigned
Minimum Job Requirements
- Knowledge of principles and methods of food science, consumer products regulations, production/manufacturing processes, and quality assurance practices; or other relevant areas of the food industry
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Training in sensory, basic food safety, and FDA labeling requirements
- Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize multiple projects, self-directed
- High energy, ability to support continual testing, analysis and improvement, and the ability to concentrate and focus in manufacturing environment
- Ability to lift 50 pounds. Stooping and bending may be below the knees, lifting and reaching may be above shoulders
Education/Experience (Recommended)
- PCQI Certified
- HACCP Certified
- 4 years degree in Food Science or Technology, Microbiology, Chemistry or related field
- 2 years of Food Safety and Quality Assurance experience in a food manufacturing environment
