Garden Container Design Associate

Job Summary:

The design associate will be responsible for assisting in designing, installing, and maintaining plant and flower containers as ordered by clients. Planters, small garden beds and other containers as directed by the client. Applicants must have prior experience designing with plants.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Great with design and have prior design experience – floral, containers, gardens and/or landscape.
  • Love working with clients and able to make suggestions based on their needs and upsell.
  • Accustomed to working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail oriented and organized.
  • Able to work in all weather conditions.
  • Past experience working in Greenhouse environment and knowledgeable in basic plant care.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent active listening skills.
  • Excellent sales and customer service skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of the merchandise sold.
  • Ability to anticipate customers’ needs.
  • Ability to recommend merchandise to customers.
  • Ability to operate or to quickly learn the store’s point-of-sale system.
Education and Experience:
  • Previous retail experience preferred
  • On-the-job training provided
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking throughout the retail space
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
