Baker Hughes / Way Gate Inspection Technologies seeks a Mechanical Designer Engineer for the Tooling Production Team. This candidate will lead efforts to develop highly technical tooling and procedures to advance manufacturing techniques in order to continuously improve manufacturing matrixes.
Partner with the best
Baker Hughes Mechanical Designer Engineer candidate, will coordinate with a cross-discipline development team to design and develop the most advanced hand-held remote visual inspection (RVI) equipment in the world.
As a Mechanical Designer Engineer, you will be responsible for: - Work with cross-discipline team to identify process's that can be improved through automation
- Identifying suppliers/or internal resources to fulfill requirements
- Design and construct test set-ups as required for evaluation and qualification test
- Seeks and makes recommendations for process and cost savings improvement efficiency projects
- Position requires up to 90% of work directed toward Tool Design of custom jig fixtures to complex automation fixtures using 3D CAD software, preferably solid works
- Participate in design reviews for product designs with the ability to provide insight to manufacturing techniques and develop tool requirements
- Conduct design reviews for developed tools
- Assembly of fixtures and trouble shoot.
- Work closely with Software/Design Engineers with Automation & Visions systems
- Experience working with R & D product design for small complex assemblies
- Knowledge of schematics and wiring management
- Create processes and train personnel on operation of fixtures.
- Documentation and release activities per department procedures
- Work closely with Tool Room

To be successful in this role you will require: - Associates Degree in Mechanical discipline-minimal
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in tool design
- Minimum for 1 to 2 years working with automation equipment including vision systems
- Electronics skills w/Electrical and Mechanical design background a plus
- Minimum of 3 years' experience using Solid works or 3D CAD equivalent
- Computer Skills Windows, Word, and Excel.
