Roles & Responsibilities:
- Excellent communication skills and a bright, happy, outgoing attitude are a must!
- Provide excellent customer service
- Greet patients (pets and owners)
- Check-in patients, take the pets weight and picture
- Check-out patients, schedule follow-up appointments and collect payments if needed
- Teamwork approach
- Assist Dr. Wright during physical exams
- Type Dr. Wrights notes & follow-up with the patient regarding the doctor's recommendations.
- Record owner/pet history
- Process lab samples
- Discuss food/diet with Owner & begin troubleshooting inflammation causing items
- Provide client education as trained by Dr. Wright
- Follow up with clients and maintain communications
- Responding to vet assistant voice messages, emails and faxes within the business day
- Conducting vet assistant appointments without the Veterinarian present for appropriate procedures like administering vaccines, blood draws & placing catheters.
- Make & answer phone calls with professional phone etiquette
- Communicate lab results to the client
- Stock exam room, mobile box & supplements on the shelf
- Inventory check & update in database
- Note the ordering spreadsheet when we are running low on a product
- Take Instruction from the Doctor & Office Manager
- Efficiently learn and use electronic medical software (EVET) to: register patients/pets in computer system, enter treatments, medical records, communications, data entry, schedule appointments, process payments, generate reports, etc...
- Clear and concise verbal, written, and electronic communication skills
- Making copies and sending faxes via paper and electronic
- Handling problems, ie: difficult client, paper jam in copier, vacuum clogged, an appointment runs over, etc...
- Adapt to small office tasks as needed
- Sanitizing, cleaning & tiding of exam room between clients
- Sanitizing, cleaning & tiding of the clinic in morning/evening
- Empty trash daily
- Wash linens onsite
- Prioritize to timely complete tasks and projects
- Supplement & pet food order fulfillment
- Compound supplement formulation production - Dr. Wright creates specific formulations with multiple ingredients for clients that this position fulfills

Confidence & Experience in:

- Veterinary Assistant. - 1 year
- Administering vaccines, drawing blood & placing catheters. - 1 year
- EVET knowledge is helpful but not required. EVET is our scheduling and patient database software.

Requirements:
- Excellent communication skills and a bright, happy, outgoing attitude are a must.

- Teamwork approach.
- Working knowledge of English language as this candidate will be responding to emails.
- Knowledge of basic computer operation and word processing.
- Knowledge of basic office equipment, ie: copier, fax, phone, etc...
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must be willing and able to complete tasks effectively in a busy and sometimes distracting environment; ability to prioritize is essential.
- Able to lift and move 45 pounds with ease.

This position is full-time at 30-40 hrs/week. Pay is dependent on experience and averages between $14.00 - $17 per hour to start plus bonuses. COVID-19 considerations:
We are exceeding the guidelines shared by the CBC, WHO and the OVMEB. We have built 30 minutes time between clients to sanitize. Part of our sanitizing procedure is opening our bay door to allow for total air flow. All temperatures checked before entry.
