What are the responsibilities and job description for the School Cafeteria Moniter position at Baldwin Academy?
Baldwin Academy is currently seeking a professional, experienced early childhood caferteria/floater with a passion for influencing the development of children's minds and providing the best child care experience to children and families in the Fort Lauderdale area.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Prepares nutritionally balanced, attractive family-style meals for children.
- Keeps an accurate inventory of supplies and orders replacement of supplies as needed.
- Unloads and store food and supplies as deliveries come in.
- Keep kitchen, and cafeteria clean and organized at all times.
- Adhere to proceedings and regulations with the DCF.
- Always comply with the presentation requirements set by the company.
- Attend ongoing training to keep education and regulations up to date.
- Help students with homework.
- Help keep school clean.
- Assist Lead Teachers with lunch, learning activities, and overall school functionality.
- Be able to lead teaching exercises for multiple grade levels simultaneously.
- Provides an environment in which each child has a positive, nurturing relationship with caring adults by encouraging a climate that is inviting, respectful, supportive, inclusive, and flexible.
Required Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years or older
- Must be willing to undergo a Clearhouse Backgroud
- Should be knowledgeable of state nutritional requirements of children.
- Has relevant experience in a licensed child care facility kitchen, commercial kitchen, public school cafeteria, or equivalent.
- Required to have food service/food handlers permit or license according to state/local regulations.
- Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must have excellent communication skills
- Must be a team player
- Must have reliable transportation
Preferred Qualifications
CPR and First Aid (can be obtained during job training)
Must have DCF 45 hours (can be obtained during job training)
Work Environment
- Must be able to adapt to continuously changing, fast-paced environment, and make the children's need the primary focus.
- Must be able to fully engage in physical activity including lifting up to 50lbs.
- Must be able to kneel, squat, stoop, crawl, lift, push, and pull.
- Must be able to engage in activities including but limited to jumping, dancing, and running, walking, hopping, and skipping.
Must be available between the hours of 6:30am and 3:30pm. Must be available a consistent schedule Monday through Friday.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $12.00 - $16.00 per hour
