POSITION SUMMARY:

We have an exciting opportunity for the Director, Resident Services, to join our team.
A resident services director is a managerial professional oversees the day-to-day operations of concierge, life enrichment and transportation, ensure they meet all necessary health and safety standards and provide a comfortable living environment for residents.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develops, plans, implements, and monitors the resident services staff and program for residents consistent with regulations and established best practices.
- Oversees updating paperwork, ordering supplies, and handling financial responsibilities such as creating and maintaining budgets or negotiating contracts with vendors.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of transportation, concierge, and life enrichment services, ensuring residents' needs are promptly and efficiently addressed.
- Provides guidance, support, and training to team members to ensure they deliver exceptional service to residents.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Oversees a diverse range of programs, activities, and services that cater to the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive well-being of our residents.
- Monitors expenses and revenue related to resident services and adjusts as necessary to meet financial objectives are met.
- Oversees logistics for all reporting departments scheduling, staffing, transportation, and equipment/materials procurement to ensure events run smoothly. Ensures that the schedule is set, and that call-offs are covered.
- Develops and implements policies and procedures to uphold health, safety, and regulatory standards across all resident services departments.
- Oversees transportation services, including scheduling, maintenance, and safety compliance. This includes meeting the standards of titling, insurance and staff compliance expectations.
- Monitors service delivery metrics and implements improvements as necessary to enhance resident satisfaction and operational efficiency.
- Collaborates with other department heads to ensure seamless coordination of services and resources.
- Collaborates with residents, families, and staff members to identify interests, services, and needs to tailor programs accordingly.
- Stays informed about current trends, research, and best practices in senior living and life enrichment to continually enhance offerings.
- Plays a pivotal role in creating a vibrant and engaging community where residents can thrive and pursue their passions and interests.
- Ensures all services provided meet or exceed the expectations of residents and adhere to established standards.
- Regularly assesses and evaluates the effectiveness of programs and services, implementing improvements as needed.
- Manages all staff members, coordinating essential training, and assisting when needed.
- Provides tours of the faculty to families with prospective residents when needed.
- Assists in the development and management of the departmental budget.
- Communicates effectively with residents, families, and staff members to promote opportunities for engagement.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, & SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Five or more years’ senior living experience preferably in the local community with knowledge of community influencers and service-oriented groups
- Strong communication skills with the ability to relate well to others and to connect and build relationships
- Strong problem-solving skills for analyzing difficult situations and finding effective solutions
- Experience and expertise with technology systems including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel and lead tracking software
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed
- Set schedule to meet the needs of the team and community
- Lead by example with diplomacy, empathy, consistency, humility, and confidence; and possess superior customer service skills and professionalism.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Travel is minimal.
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays as needed.
- May be exposed to unpleasant odors, contagious diseases and blood borne pathogens.
- Balfour is a pet-friendly community; you may be exposed to animal hair and dander.
