Job Description: Bookkeeper for a Manufacturing Company
Position Summary:
Our small manufacturing company is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to manage our day-to-day accounting, finance requirements, and assist with Human Resources. Confidentiality, excellent organizational skills, and accuracy are important qualifications for this position, as well as the ability to communicate clearly. The ideal candidate for this position is a skilled multi-tasker, reliable, and is committed to consistently meeting deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and update accounting records and files.
Perform reconciliations of bank accounts to ensure accuracy.
Manage the general ledger and assist with monthly and year-end financial audits.
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable in a timely manner.
Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports.
Monitor office expenses and tally and enter cash receipts.
Pay vendor invoices and track bank account balances.
Develop monthly financial statements, including cash flow, profit and loss statements, and balance sheets.
Administer payroll and maintain employee records.
Coordinate with external financial institutions and accountants when necessary.
Implement and maintain internal financial controls and procedures.
Qualifications:
Associate's or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred).
Proven bookkeeping experience, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.).
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Excellent data entry skills.
Strong organizational and planning skills.
Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information with integrity.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Capability to produce reports and complete work within deadlines.
Experience in Human Resources is a plus.
