Job Description
SCOPE OF POSITION
The Radiation Oncology Billing Analyst is responsible for all aspects of billing which includes : audits on all patient charges for completeness, checks the Daily Billing Reports to ensure that all charges cross correctly, ensures that the correct patient account number is being used, competently checks the Denial Reports and notifies the proper staff of changes that need to be made.

EDUCATION EXPERIENCE
At a minimum the radiation oncology billing analyst should have at least five years of clinical experience as a radiation therapy technologist, and a Bachelor's degree in management.
The billing analyst for radiation oncology must maintain his / her licensure and will at times be called upon to provide clinical coverage related to the absence of current staff therapists accordingly.
The Radiation Oncology Billing Analyst should be proficient in current billing protocols and have a working knowledge of ICD-9 coding.
The Analyst should also have a comprehensive understanding of the clinical operations associated with a Radiation Oncology Program.
