SUMMARY: Supervises and coordinates activities of Team Members engaged in one or more of the following areas of accounting: accounts payable, accounts receivable & collections, and hotel audit. Also, computes, classifies, records, and verifies numerical data for use in maintaining accounting records by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensures that the accounts receivable transactions and collection efforts are properly recorded and performed in a timely fashion in accordance with Tropicana policies and internal controls.
Ensures that all guest debts and payments are properly recorded/reported and are performed in a timely fashion in accordance with Tropicana policies and internal controls.
Ensures that the daily casino audits (to include slots, table games, W-2G and cage) are properly recorded and performed in a timely fashion in accordance with Tropicana policies and internal controls.
Ensures that the daily Food & Beverage audits are properly recorded and performed in a timely fashion in accordance with Tropicana policies and internal controls Issues written and oral instructions to Team Members.
Ensures that the daily hotel audit (to include hotel front desk and amenities) is properly recorded and performed in a timely fashion in accordance with Tropicana policies and internal controls Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness and conformance to policies, procedures and all applicable federal and state laws.
Studies and standardizes procedures as necessary to improve efficiency of subordinates
Monitors loans and accounts payable and receivable to ensure that payments are up to date.
Reconciles report discrepancies and problems.
Codes data for input to financial data processing system according to company procedures.
Interacts with vendors, customers and other crewmembers in a professional manner for problem resolutions and collections matters.
Knowledgeable of the Indiana Gaming regulations as well as Tropicana internal controls, policies and procedures.
Other duties assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Directly supervises 1 Crew Members in the Accounting Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training of Crew Members; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining Crew Members; addressing complaints and resolving problems within the aforementioned areas.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Business, or related field; Minimum
of 1-2 years accounting experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Must be able to satisfy the requirements for obtaining
and retaining an Occupational Gaming License from the Indiana Gaming Commission.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently. Ability to read, analyze, and
interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present
information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.hbg
MATHMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical
inference. `Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions,
fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra
and geometry.
COMPUTER SKILLS: Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office products with strong working
knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Ability to learn multiple accounting and gaming software applications. Ability to
learn software applications quickly.
