Global Product Manager

The Global Product Manager is responsible for the growth and profitability of a BAC product, determined by the Global Director, Product Marketing & Management. This person will make product tradeoff decisions, through stakeholder alignment, to maximize the return to achieve a quantifiable competitive advantage in the marketplace. This person will research and prioritize product and customer requirements, determine the cadence of launches/enhancements, define the go-to-market plan, then working within a matrixed organization to ensure business metrics and customer satisfaction are obtained. The Global Product Manager’s job includes ensuring that the product supports the company’s overall strategy and goals.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Define the product strategy and roadmap in collaboration with regional and global marketing
• Proactively rationalize current and future product offerings
• Translate customer buying criteria into product requirements and collaborate with engineering and operations to optimize product design and manufacturing efforts to meet those criteria while meeting cost targets
• Develop business cases to support NPD investments
• Develop products by comparing benefits of product concepts vs customer needs and competition, conduct market research, and generate product specifications
• Scope and prioritize the product backlog and make tradeoff decisions based on business and customer impact
• Bring new products to market on-time and within budget
• Provide product and technology expertise on competitors/alternative solutions to meet customer needs
• Determine customers’ needs by specifying the research needed to obtain market information
• Develop go-to market strategy to ensure BAC has a competitive advantage in the areas of the most value to the customer
• Create easy to understand core positioning and messaging for thorough understanding among senior leaders, key sales/marketing personnel
• Manage product using evidence-based understanding of BAC’s sales history, market conditions, competitive positioning and provides actionable recommendations to senior leaders to improve revenue/profitability

NATURE AND SCOPE

The Global Product Manager will report to the Global Director, Product Marketing and Management. As part of Global Marketing, the Global Product Manager will have significant interaction with all levels and function within the organization. This position does not require direct reports.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

• 5 years in B2B industries
• 4 years of experience in product management, marketing, business management
• Technical or Science background
• Experience in controls use cases in HVAC/Industrial Refrigeration cooling applications
• Demonstrated success in defining and launching products to market for superior ROI
• Skilled in product management with experience in pricing/cost analysis, value proposition development, payback analysis, market research, product positioning
• Strong project management experience with proven ability to coordinate projects across cross functional teams
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
• Excellent communication skills
