What are the responsibilities and job description for the Payroll Analyst position at Baltimore Aircoil Company?
POSITION PURPOSE:
- Ensures compliance with all applicable state and federal wage and hours laws.
- Partners with managers, supervisors, and employees to troubleshoot and resolve issues, making sure timecards are submitted, approved and corrections made ahead of the predetermined payroll submission deadline.
- Ensures people leaders are trained on time keeping legal compliance and processes.
- Working knowledge of FLSA, FMLA and other federal and state laws related to payroll.
- Researching exception items and taking proper corrective action.
- Provides excellent service to team members with payroll queries.
- Analyze, prepare, and input payroll data on a timely basis.
- Ensures practices and compliance audits are aligned with regional counterparts. May perform audits of other BAC locations.
- Responsible for documenting and presenting monthly payroll process compliance audits and resulting metrics.
- Analyze metrics, make process / performance improvement recommendations to HR Manager and Corporate Payroll Manager. Is the site liaison with corporate payroll.
- Report out metrics and related performance improvement needs to employees and people leaders at site for accountability. Trains populations to include new hire orientations on all related timekeeping processes and laws.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES – Benefits
Administer Amsted’s established benefit programs inclusive of 401(k), medical, dental, vision, H.S.A., F.S.A., ESOP and supplemental offerings.
- Reconcile elections and eligibility to payroll files.
- Coordinate annual benefits open enrollment and process mid-year qualifying events.
- Partner with facility HR Managers to provide educational materials/trainings on benefit offering to promote products and plans.
- Partner with Corporate HR Manager for processing of FMLA participants.
- Maintain benefits in UKG business system.
- Train and coach employees through on-line tools for benefits and payroll.
- Support Amsted in the administration and communication of employee benefit and welfare programs and initiatives.
- Meet all legal and fiduciary requirements by reporting on benefits plans to Amsted, BAC and required government agencies
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, or related discipline is required.
- Minimum of 3 years with direct involvement in the processing of payroll and administration of health and welfare programs.
- California payroll experience is required.
- Demonstrated payroll / labor metric reporting required.
- CPP Payroll and/or CEBS certification highly desired.
- Computer proficiency with payroll packages required.
- Demonstrated understanding of general ledger as it applies to payroll is highly desired.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a strong, regional HR team.
- Excellent communication, customer service skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft products.
