SUMMARY : The resource teacher will support the implementation of the Office of Leadership Development initiatives and assist with alignment to the Baltimore County Public Schools (BCPS) systemwide goals, strategies, and activities in The Compass: Our Pathway to Excellence, and with the Learning Forward Standards for Professional Learning .

This position is generally sedentary and performed in an office environment. Work includes the operation of office equipment, including personal computers, and occasional limited physical activities. Work also includes presenting in front of large groups of teacher-leaders and administrators in-person or through virtual settings.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT :
Requires travel to schools and offices throughout Baltimore County.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES :
- Collaborates with Executive Director of Organizational Development and Leadership and Coordinator of Leadership Development to monitor system-wide and departmental professional development initiatives to ensure alignment with the goals, strategies, and activities in The Compass: Our Pathway to Excellence and with the Learning Forward Standards for Professional Learning .
- Assists in planning and providing system-wide professional learning for new assistant principals and aspiring leaders in alignment with adult learning theory.
- Assists in developing, planning, and providing system-wide professional learning for principals, assistant principals, staff development teachers, professional learning liaisons, and others, as appropriate.
- Assists with facilitating and assessing BCPS leadership programs.
- Collects and analyzes data to support the delivery of high-quality professional development.
- Serves on various BCPS committees as a representative from the Department of Organizational Development and Leadership for initiatives in The Compass: Our Pathway to Excellence.
- Plans and provides coaching and mentoring for leaders and teams.
- Uses technology to support the development of new assistant principals, aspiring leaders, staff, and offices.
- Participates in professional learning to share current leadership initiatives and strategies.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Experience, Education and Training:
- Graduation from a regionally accredited college or university with a master's degree with appropriate course work in leadership, pedagogy, and supervision.
- Five years of successful teaching and experience in school or districtwide professional learning in a PreK-12 public education setting.
- One year experience as an assistant principal or principal preferred.
- Leadership and coaching experience with adult learners preferred.
Licenses and Certifications :
- Possession of, or eligibility for, a Maryland Standard Professional Certificate.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
- Strong knowledge of the processes for collaboration among teacher leaders and administrators such as professional learning communities.
- Skill in planning and facilitating professional development activities related to teacher leader and administrative collaboration.
- Knowledge of and skill in the use of database, internet, spreadsheet, presentation, word processing, and related applications.
- Knowledge of and skill in data analysis.
- Demonstration of strong human relations skills.
- Demonstration of effective organization and communication skills.

Pre-Employment Requirements:
- All persons employed by the Baltimore County Public Schools, regular and temporary, are required to be fingerprinted and have a criminal background investigation (per COMAR) completed. The fee charged for fingerprinting is $106. An identification card will be issued which must be shown prior to employment.
- Anyone offered employment is required to provide proper identification and documentation of eligibility for employment in the US.
- If you have military experience you will be asked to provide a copy of DD214.
- Official transcripts for all higher education must be received prior to contract signing.
- Some positions will require employees to undergo a physical examination and/or drug testing.
