Childcare supervisor

Bambini Montessori Academy is seeking an experienced and passionate Child Care Shift Supervisor to work with our Gambrills center director in leading our team of early childhood educators.

In this vital role, you will work with the center director to help oversee the day-to-day operations of our classrooms, mentor teachers, and ensure our center upholds the highest standards of Montessori education and child care excellence.

Responsibilities :

• Help supervise and mentor a team of 25-30 staff ( teachers, teacher assistants, and classroom aides), providing coaching, training, and feedback to support their professional growth
• Working with the center director, implement curricula, classroom management techniques, and educational philosophies in alignment with Montessori principles
• Monitor classrooms to ensure compliance with state licensing regulations, safety protocols, and Bambini Montessori policies
• Communicate with parents, addressing concerns, sharing updates on child development, and building positive relationships
• Assist the Center Director in maintaining classroom records, conducting evaluations, and scheduling
• Identify areas for program improvement and implement solutions to enhance the quality of education and care
• Step in to teach classes and lead activities as needed to support classroom staffing needs
• Cultivate a nurturing, inclusive environment where children can learn and thrive

Qualifications :

• Minimum 2 years supervisory experience in a fast paced enviroment
• Experience in a childcare setting and teacher certification preferred
• Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and manage teams of up to 25-30 staff members effectively.

Skilled in setting clear expectations, providing constructive feedback, and fostering a collaborative work environment.

• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, enabling effective interaction with staff, peers, and senior management.
• Proficient in resolving conflicts, addressing concerns, and building strong relationships to promote teamwork and cohesion.
• Thorough knowle dge of child development theories and Montessori methodology
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Current CPR / First Aid certification
• Meet all state licensing requirements for child care supervisors in Maryland
