Position Overview

BANANAS Inc. is searching for an experienced, energetic, multitalented Accounts Payable Analyst. This position will be responsible for Bananas full cycle accounts payable process. The successful candidate needs general accounting experience, flexibility, good time management skills, and the ability to handle competing priorities.

We offer workshops, playgroups, coaching, and support groups for parents and caregivers. Low-income families are supported with financial assistance so they can access quality child care. Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for full cycle accounts payable process

Major Duties

  • Prepare month-end close general ledger, fixed assets and expense reconciliations
  • Record and reconcile monthly child care provider payment accruals processed by the Alternative Payment Department.
  • Prepare weekly payment batch accurately and timely, ensuring that payments are in accordance with purchasing policies and procedures
  • Receive purchase orders: 2-way and 3-way match
  • Vendor onboarding and communications: contact vendors to obtain the necessary documents for processing payment: W9, bank detail or other documents
  • Prepare and submit annual 1099 file to third party
  • Assist with annual audit, streamlining the accounts payable process and cash flow preparation
  • Maintain accounts payable desk instructions
  • Work with accounts receivable analysts and other department team members to resolve account issues when necessary
  • Identify and drive process improvements, including the creation of ad hoc reports and Excel dashboard
  • Other special projects as needed

Required Qualifications

Education

  • BA, BS in Accounting / Finance or equivalent work experience

Experience, Knowledge, and Skills

  • A minimum of two years’ experience as an Accounts Payable Analyst or similar role
  • Extensive experience in preparing general ledger entries and processing payments
  • Strong fluency in Excel formulas and functions; Word & PowerPoint
  • Ability to research and analyze all aspects of payables
  • Excellent organizational skills, handle multiple tasks with accuracy and thoroughness
  • Able to work independently and in a team environment
  • Excellent communication skills: oral, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent customer service skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in NetSuite or similar ERP systems
  • Experience with auditing and budgeting
  • Working knowledge of accounts receivable and cash reconciliation

Pre-Screening Requirements:

Both assessments must be completed as part of our pre-screening requirements.

  • Skills test: Principles of accounting
  • Skills test: Spreadsheets with Microsoft Excel

Schedule

BANANAS has a 37-hour work week (Mon - Thurs - 7.5 hours and Fri - 7.0 hours).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $69,943.00 - $73,850.00 per year
