Responsible for providing support to the attorneys in the Office of the General Counsel, including but not limited to, assisting in the administration of critical corporate governance matters, assisting with lending/transactional work and providing confidential executive level administrative support to the General Counsel/Corporate Secretary. Engages in a wide variety of legal work requiring the ability to function as a liaison with other internal functional groups, and as a representative of the Office of the General Counsel with external parties. Under the direction of an attorney, may perform the following: resolves routine legal issues; researches and analyzes law sources such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles; assists in litigation or corporate governance duties and interfaces with internal business units. Performs all duties in accordance with the Company’s policies and procedures, all U.S. state and federal laws and regulations, wherein the Company operates.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Functions as a liaison between business units and the Office of the General Counsel.
- Possesses a basic level of knowledge of specific area of law (e.g. Corporate, Lending, or Civil Litigation).

Assists with maintaining a comprehensive corporate calendar, preparing materials, tracking materials prepared by others for the board of directors meetings, its committees, and annual stockholder’s meetings.
- Assists with document gathering in response to discovery requests, initial review of pleadings and basic fact finding.
- Assists attorneys with basic regulatory research concerning commercial and consumer lending transactions.
- Performs legal document management and initial review of NDAs, governing entity formation documents, agreements, settlements, contracts, etc.
- Assists with opening new matters, processing and allocating law firm invoices using the Company’s law firm billing platform.
- Provides departmental operational support to the Legal Operations Manager, as needed.
- Seeks to build relationships throughout the Company to become a resource for the Office of the General Counsel and internal clients, and have strong communication skills.
- Ensures that legal documents are properly formatted and thoroughly proofread for punctuation, spelling, and grammar to produce a finished product for review by the attorneys or senior personnel.
- Participates in ongoing projects, as needed and works with members of the Office of the General Counsel in order to achieve project goals.

- Experience with law firm invoice billing platform (Legal Tracker) preferred.
- Basic understanding of public company reporting obligations preferred.
- Intermediate skills in computer terminal and personal computer operation; Microsoft Office applications including but not limited to: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

- Intermediate typing skills to meet production needs of the position.
- Intermediate math skills; calculate interest and percentages; balance accounts; add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; locate routine mathematical errors; compute rate, ratio and percent, including the drafting and interpretation of bar graphs.
- Exceptional oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions, interpret documents, understand procedures, write reports and correspondence, and speak clearly to customers and employees.
- Ability to work with general supervision while performing duties.
- Associate's Degree required.
- ABA Accredited Paralegal certification required.
- A minimum of 1 to 6 years of relevant work related experience consisting of a general paralegal background in banking and/or corporate law, bank operations, compliance, SEC reporting, or other related background.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred, but not required.
SALARY RANGE: $53,142.61 - 80,947.87; Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
