Primary Function: The Sales Associate is responsible for prospecting, soliciting, proposing, and selling new business and for the retention of existing accounts. The candidate will work at a strategic level to develop and retain consultative partnership relationships by providing professional risk management advice and solutions to personal lines clients and prospects and In addition, the candidate is responsible for meeting and/or exceeding growth targets as outlined by agency management.
Responsibilities and Tasks:
- Successfully complete BXSI sales training program.
- Prospect for new business opportunities, attending networking functions, industry events, trade association events, civic organizations, etc. to maintain a robust pipeline. Data must be maintained in the prospect management system.
- Collect detailed risk and underwriting data from clients and prospects to determine the appropriate risk management solutions
- Work with the marketing team to market and place new business
- Oversee the management of existing clients including structuring the risk management program, staying informed of all claim and/or service needs as well as re-assessing and modifying the program as appropriate
- Participate in educational seminars or training to grow technical insurance knowledge and to meet state license requirements. Must stay abreast of industry and market trends and developments
- Actively participate in agency producer meetings and sales meetings
- Other responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications:
Education/Designations
- Four-year college degree or equivalent experience preferred
- Property & Casualty and/or Life & Health license or ability to obtain within six (6) months
Skill Requirements
- Experience and proficiency using Microsoft Word and Excel and/or G Suite products including Gmail, Docs word processing, Sheets, and Drive cloud storage
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work with numbers including basic calculations
- Organizational and time management skills Ability to work in a team environment
- Projects professional appearance and manner
- Self-starter with the ability to be flexible
- High attention to detail
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to communicate effectively with clients, producers, carriers and staff
- Ability to stand or sit at a workstation during a standard workday
- Ability to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and printer
- Ability to move about the office to access office machinery and supplies

- Ability to work and meet challenging deadlines and expectations
- Job entails meticulous attention to detail
- Must perform well with frequent interruptions or distractions
- Ability to quickly adjust priorities, focus and direction as circumstances dictates
