We are seeking a Software Engineer II for a DoD customer to support research, design, and development of computer and network software or specialized applications, services, or platforms in cloud-based architectures. Must have experience with current software methodologies (e.g., agile, DEVOPS/DEVSECOPS) and be able to translate software architecture and requirements in to detailed technical implementations for applications, services, platforms, and cybersecurity configurations in cloud infrastructure designed to support the logistics lifecycle planning and sustainment for expeditionary forces worldwide.
Preferred candidates will have at least three (3) years professional experience designing and implementing solutions in a cloud environment (e.g., AWS, Azure) and be able to work and deliver with minimal oversight. You will collaborate and coordinate with cross-functional teams regarding policies, procedures, and practices and lead the software implementation of smaller systems or sub-systems of complex systems given a high-level software architecture.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support and implementation (e.g., requirements definition, architecture design, software implementation, data analysis, continuous verification and validation of requirements, DevSecOps) from concept to transition for cloud-based solutions
- Provide engineering support to the engineering design, technical complexity, requirements definition, gap alignment, and risk mitigation for solutions development and modernization efforts for legacy systems
- Identify potential technical challenges, dependencies, and limitations associated with projects; provide input to risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans
- Review and provide feedback on design specifications, architecture diagrams, user manuals, technical guides, accreditation documentation, etc.
- Support the development and execution of testing and verification methodologies
- Analyze feedback from users during test and demonstration events
- Implement solutions in accordance with technical specifications and standards for scalability, maintainability, performance, and security
- Provide input to technical recommendations, reports, briefings, and executive summaries
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in quantitative field such as engineering or mathematics e.g. Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or relevant field.
- Certifications: Agile Developer or Certified Scrum Developer certification required.
- Experience: Three (3) years of professional experience with research, design, and development of computer software applying modern software development methodologies (e.g., agile, DEVOPS/DEVSECOPS) and languages
Desired Qualifications:
- Familiarity with AWS, Azure, and other FedRAMP approved cloud architectures
- Strong grasp of cybersecurity standards
- Experience building, deploying, securing, and provisioning PaaS, SaaS, DaaS, Microservices etc., solutions in a cloud environment
- Familiarity with DoD Secure Cloud Computing Architecture (SCCA) tenets
