Bango Distribution is a family-oriented team of cultivators and entrepreneurs who have combined their decades of experience to offer cannabis consumers access to some of America’s most meticulously cultivated cannabis.

We found that from the inception of the legal adult-use cannabis market, luxurious, high-quality cannabis quickly became too costly for all cannabis consumers to enjoy. With the belief that everyone deserves to consume cannabis from the “top shelf”, our desire was to foster brands that invite everyone to experience high-quality, organic sun-grown cannabis.

As we expand into new markets, Bango is seeking several energetic and personable Graphic Designers to work in both Northern California and New Jersey who can apply their skill sets and experience to both uphold and expand upon the design standards set by our exiting Designer/Creative Director. These Designers will be dynamically collaborating with our Marketing Director and core team members from other departments in order to achieve fresh ideas and perspectives. Salaries and titles (Junior Designer, Lead Designer, Creative Director) will be commensurate with skills and experience as relating to the primary/secondary requirements listed below.

The ideal Designer will be passionate about the cannabis and CBD market.

Primary Requirements:

• An acute understanding of visual identity, brand guidelines and “brand book” creation.
• The ability to respect and execute designs within said guidelines.
• The ability to take direction, retain information, and accurately execute design concepts in turn.
• Respect for project approval chains including design phases, phase and final file approvals-in-writing, and chain-of-command inside and outside Elyon's creative department.
• Comprehensive technical knowledge of all print processes, possibilities and techniques relating to flexible packaging (including pouches, labels, heat shrink sleeves, etc), and the ability to practically prepare any digital file for final printing with respect to budgets and real-world print limitations.
• Top-notch vendor communication skills relating to the above.
• The ability to establish basic site hosting and domain registration via established platforms, the ability to install site themes in the WordPress environment and execute basic theme customizations.
• The ability to work closely with web developers for deeper site customizations, app creation, eCommerce opportunities, and the like.
• Excellent file management skills within the Mac OS environment.
• A comprehensive digital color management knowledge base—spot vs process colors, global colors, etc.
• Vector-based object and font manipulation skills, primarily within Adobe Illustrator.
• Layer-based image manipulation skills in Photoshop including layer masking and background removal, cloning, transparency modes, etc.
• Catalog-based camera RAW image management and correction skills using Adobe LightRoom Classic.

Secondary Requirements:

• Comprehensive technical knowledge relating to hard packaging, point-of-purchase displays, silkscreen printing, merchandise production, large-scale display graphics, and other more “exotic” print processes are all greatly desirable.
• Communication and technical delivery skills relating to OFF-SHORE production of soft packaging, hard packaging, merchandise and displays is greatly desirable.
• A basic understanding of still photography concepts such as studio lighting, camera settings, camera/lens/flash gear options.
• A basic understanding of concepts and technical parameters relating to motion graphics, 3D modeling and animation in order to communicate requirements to multimedia vendors.
• The ability to draft basic thumbnail sketches and storyboards as creative direction for video production teams as well as for the aforementioned motion graphics and 3D animation vendors.
• Personal real-world skills and abilities in the areas of still photography, rmotion graphics, 3D modeling and animation is also greatly desirable.
• Deeper real-world knowledge of HTML, CSS, WordPress theme customization, SEO, and other web development platforms such as WebFlow greatly desirable.

Salary/Compensation:

• Beginning salaries ranging from $55k to $85k annually—

commensurate with skill and experience levels. Potential for salary increase is possible after a six-month probationary period and formal review.

Location

• Candidates will be expected to work primarily from our North Bay Area (CA) and South New Jersey production/distribution centers in order to work closely with production staff on packaging parameters, develop a comprehensive understanding of our products and quality standards, and become a bonded member of the Bango Family.
• Following the six-month review period, the possibility for partial remote work will be considered, though hands-on weekly scheduled collaboration with production staff will continue to be vital.
