Bangs Laboratories experience in microsphere synthesis and fine particle analysis have established us as a leading manufacturer of polymer, silica and magnetic microspheres for diagnostic, research, and flow cytometry applications.  We also manufacture many specialty products to support validation and QC programs for analytical instruments, including a broad portfolio of fluorescent, count, size, and cell viability standards.

SUMMARY

Bangs Laboratories, part of the Ott Scientific family of companies, is seeking a regular, full-time Scientific / Technical Content Writer to join our Marketing group in Fishers, IN.  We’re a lean and highly efficient team that serves as the in-house Marketing agency for Bangs Labs and other Ott Scientific companies.  This position is responsible for planning, writing, and editing customer-facing content used for client technical support, conferences, advertising, etc.  The ideal candidate is a self-starter, a strong writer, able to create and repackage content in many forms, and experienced in creating content calendars to align with brand messaging, corporate objectives and industry news. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Create original content for application notes, datasheets, white papers, blogs, etc., and contribute to storylines for video production, infographics, etc. 
• Work collaboratively with design team in project creation and delivery.
• Contribute to and enhance editorial calendars for social channels. 
• Develop and maintain knowledge of key company products, services and application areas within the life sciences and medical device & diagnostics. 
• Conduct literature research reviews. 
• Work with scientific, quality, and client-facing staff as needed to plan and refine corporate literature content.
• Serve as a content expert to support other initiatives and projects.
• Develop a deep knowledge of company technical library holdings and aid in updating and/or recycling existing pieces for various platforms.
• Write, edit, proofread content for various platforms and publications.
• Ensure that all grammar, spelling, flow, and tone are appropriate for the writing project.
• Uphold writing and professional standards including appropriate copyright, trademark, plain language, scientific, and any quality regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, scientific discipline, with at least 5 years of experience.
• Proven writing and content development skills. Human- / non-AI generated writing samples will be required for candidates who progress to interview.
• Knowledge of and interest in the sciences.
• A curious mind and an interest in scientific and technological advancements, and how things work.
• Ability to work and mange projects both independently and as a marketing team member. 
• Effective organizational and time management skills.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel and other software as needed.
• Experience with document control systems, archives, content or library management software is a plus.
• Experience writing for a commercial entity preferred.
