Job Description:
5 years with SQL Server Administration. Participates in design, development and implementation of complex databases, often using new technologies. Viewed as the subject matter expert for the team. Manages multiple, moderately complex projects and direct activities of a team related to special initiatives or operations. Routine accountability is for technical knowledge and capabilities as a team member or as an individual contributor. Works under minimal supervision, with general guidance from more seasoned consultants or managers. Works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors. Exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criterion for obtaining results. Work leadership may be provided by assigning work and resolving problems. Computer Science degree preferred or substantially equivalent experience.
Required Skills
* Experience with/knowledge of SQL Server High Availability solutions including Windows Server Failover Clustering and Always on Availability Groups.
* Experience with/knowledge of managing Azure Stack using WAC (Windows Admin Center)
* Experience with/knowledge of Microsoft Azure
* Knowledge of core Windows services, administration and Hyper-V management
* Configure database mirroring, log shipping, always on and SQL replication as part of Disaster Recovery and high availability Strategy
* Perform database backup/recovery management and capacity planning. Backup and recovery of SQL databases
* Implement monitoring procedures to maximize availability and performance of the database/instances
* Troubleshooting and performing root cause analysis of problems and recommend solutions to resolve the problems
* Expert in Performance Tuning and Query Optimization, Partitioning, Compression, indexing,……
* Participate in design and code reviews to promote system reliability and efficiency by implementing standards and best-practices
* Perform code migrations and updates through lower level environment and ultimately into production
* Experience to lead projects and work with people in different time zones & teams across the enterprise
* Assist application developers in refining complex queues and performance tuning
* Ability to work well under pressure and independently
