Position Summary
Bank of America has an opportunity for a seasoned hands-on Sr. Architect to lead the efforts for defining the functional & technical architectural solutions for core customer/account reference data applications in the Consumer and Global Wealth Management technology group. Accountable for systems design, technical architecture, strategy and technical standards and governance. The individual should have the aptitude to understand the business process, work in a team environment with other architects, product owners and developers.
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide and communicate technology strategy & solutions across different audiences including technical, managerial, business executives and/or vendors.
- Ensures architecture is flexible, modular, and meets enterprise requirements for security, performance, maintainability, scalability, usability, and reliability.
- Collaborate with business and technology organizations to align technology strategy to business strategy and help define architecture that modernize our technology, optimize business processes, and enable the business to compete in the evolving emerging environment
- Works with Product Owners to define roadmap for the next generation platform implementation
- Contribute to driving architecture strategy to keep it aligned with industry advancement and new technologies.
- Produce detailed technical design to accomplish client requirements.
- Develop overall implementation strategy with internal and external technical resources and drive the solution and integration efforts.
- Provide current best practices and 3rd Party solution alternatives as part of the technical specification document.
- Participate in performing Proof of Concept (POC) for various upcoming technologies to fit in business requirement.
Required Skills
- 15 years in leading large scale applications and defining technology architecture and strategies
- Experience in J2EE, Java programming, SOA Design patterns for building middleware systems and Messaging.
- Experience with API driven architecture and microservices.
- Development experience of SOAP and Restful Web Services, XML and JSON.
- Strong knowledge in applying patterns while designing such as Object Oriented, Integration, and application design patterns.
- Knowledge of development and build framework such as Spring, JPA/Hibernate, Maven and Struts.
- Experience in UML diagrams.
- Communicate crisply (verbally and written) across all levels of the organization from Development to Executives
- Self motivated and able to take initiative and make things happen
- Self managed and able to be accountable for deliverables
