What are the responsibilities and job description for the Universal Banker (PC) position at Bank of Weston?

The Universal Banker is part of the Bank’s Retail Department and is an active participant in the daily operations of the bank. The primary responsibilities of this position are to help deepen customer relationships, attract additional customers and improve customer service. This position is responsible for opening new accounts, selling additional products to customers and prospects and supporting the overall sales efforts of the bank.

Accountabilities:

Customer Service (Deposits):

· Provide a high level of customer service while handling daily transactions, addressing customer inquiries, and researching and resolving customer problems/issues.

· Perform all paying and receiving functions for customers with a high level of accuracy. This will include taking deposits, withdrawals, and transfers for customers. Additionally, the Universal Banker may sell money orders and help customers with additional related services.

Cross-Selling/Product Promotions:

· Responsibilities will include supporting the overall branch sales effort, including actively cross-selling and referring customers and prospects to bank products

· Actively participate in bank retail product campaigns, including assisting with product promotions throughout the year

· Direct sales goals may be established by management for such items as debit cards, online banking, mobile banking or referrals for various other bank products

Product Knowledge:

· Maintain a well-developed working knowledge of the complete line of products and services offered, taking responsibility to keep up to date and request assistance if you have further development needs. (Including an understanding of all deposit products, Debit Cards, Mobile Banking, Internet Banking, etc.)

New Accounts:

· Open and service new and existing accounts, be sure to identify customer’s current and prospective financial needs and use this knowledge to make suggestions for ways the bank can help fulfill these needs

Other :

· Understand and comply with applicable Bank policies and procedures as well as all applicable state and federal banking laws and regulations. Examples include bank secrecy act, privacy, and funds availability policy.

· As part of the overall team of bank employees, the position may be requested to assist in the support of other bank activities as needed.

· Professionalism: Project a positive image of the bank to all internal and external customers.

· Sales: Must understand the role of sales and customer service in a community bank environment. Must be able to discover customer needs and be able to obtain new customer accounts.

· Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks to effectively manage one’s time to complete work according to established deadlines.

Skills/Qualifications:

· One-three years bank experience preferred

· High school Diploma or Equivalent

· Effective written and oral communication skills

· Basic computer skills as well as utilization of other office equipment
