What are the responsibilities and job description for the Compliance Spec I position at Bank OZK?

Assists in maintaining accuracy in regulatory compliance reporting and provides support to other Compliance staff as needed.


Essential Job Functions:

1. Performs duties assigned by Compliance Program Leadership.

2. Maintains a competent level of knowledge of the requirements of various consumer protection and disclosure laws and regulations.

3. Assists in the compilation of data for compliance testing reviews, regulatory examinations, and/or regulatory reporting as needed.

4. Works with the Compliance staff and other Bank employees on compliance issues.

5. Maintains good punctuality and attendance to work.

6. Follows Bank policy, procedures, and guidelines.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of banking laws and regulations related to consumer protection.
  • Ability to demonstrate effective organization, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate effective research and analytical skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative to accomplish work objectives.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with exacting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work without close supervision.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to demonstrate effective use of specialized software.
  • Ability to work all hours as required.
  • Skill in using computer and Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of one (1) year work experience in bank lending production, bank operations or bank administration required.
