Description
The Director of Communications and Events is responsible for designing, planning and executing marketing content and events to drive the bank’s business goals. The primary objectives of this position are building and maintaining a high level of customer engagement and maximizing sales opportunities. The objectives will be achieved through: creating effective and focused promotional material for the bank’s products and services, building consistent brand positioning and messaging across all communication channels, identifying relevant public relations opportunities and leading event planning and execution. A secondary objective of the position is to ensure timely, applicable and engaging internal communications are produced as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Collaborate with business unit managers to develop communication plans for product and service promotion and determine appropriate target audience(s) and delivery channels
Provide sales support by ensuring products and services promotional collateral and sales presentations are updated and maintained
Write content for customer and employee newsletters, website, social media, event promotion, and training materials and ensure brand consistency throughout
Maintain a bank-wide external communications calendar and resolve conflicts accordingly
Research and understand competitor product positioning Ensure accuracy of customer lists and maintain customer information files
Provide analysis on campaign outcomes and continuously evaluate the effectiveness of programs
Serve as the marketing subject matter expert on BBOK projects to provide communications support, as needed
Oversee the design and upkeep of the bank’s website
Evaluate public relations and sponsorship opportunities and recommend strategies aligned with business goals
Develop and maintain a trusted, positive relationship with employees, customers, and vendors by providing exceptional service
Work in conjunction with the Compliance Officer to ensure all materials and communications adhere to all federal rules and regulations, including but not limited to the Truth in Lending Act, Electronic Funds Transfers Act and Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (Financial Privacy and Safeguard Rules), Identity Theft/Red Flag Rules and Bank Secrecy Act.

Skills and Abilities
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills
Ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
Detail oriented
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Knowledge of applicable software including graphic design programs and data analysis tools/methods
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Education and Experience Required
5 years of experience with communications and/or marketing
