SUMMARY
The position of Internal Audit/ Compliance Specialist is responsible for performing routine and intermediate duties related to the Bank’s Compliance Management Program; review and comply with all laws, rules and regulations issued by any applicable banking or other legal authority. Responsibilities include supporting the risk-focused program that incorporates internal audit, training, the Community Reinvestment Act and Compliance.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. All employees will be responsible for adhering to all Policies and Procedures of BankFlorida,
as well as all applicable state and federal banking regulations.
2. Ensure compliance with the Bank’s BSA-AML-OFAC Policies and Procedures, including but
not limited to:
a. Policy elements and procedures specific to individual job roles and responsibilities which procedure-specific training is provided in the timeline outlined in the Enterprise Wide Training Program;
b. Complete all required BSA-AML-OFAC training, both online modules, live trainings required by the Bank, and any ad-hoc training assigned by the BSA Officer or their designee;
c. Report any and all suspicious activity to the BSA Officer regardless if it is observed directly through job responsibilities or indirectly outside of job responsibilities, including suspicious activity/behavior is observed for customers, non-customers, vendors, or fellow employees; and
d. Report any issues with bank processes or procedures that may impact BSA-AML-OFAC compliance, regardless of whether the process or procedure itself is BSA-specific
Complete internal and/or external courses to maintain the appropriate level of technical knowledge and experience to perform job duties and responsibilities.
3. Perform internal monitoring and reviews of monthly branch audits.
4. Assist in planning and executing audits within various business divisions
5. Participate in internal team meetings, and business meetings
6. Monitor and test processes and controls, report results, and evaluate the organization’s compliance with regulations
7. Support strategic projects with significant scope and impact, which required sound decision-making, initiative, and intuitive thinking.
8. Assist with compliance operational task such as management of audit status, compliance training, audit preparation and implementation
- Provide support of new policies, procedures, and practices including revisions of existing policies, procedures, or practices.
10. Use management reporting tools to track and determine whether the Bank complies with applicable laws and regulations and adheres to Bank policies.
11. Responsible for handling your own task
12. May gather data and process various reports (e.g., currency transactions, legal request)
13. Sorts and distributes reports to applicable branches or departments.
14. Records, files, scans documents, updates information reports as required.

16. Identify and learn appropriate software and hardware used and supported by the organization.
17. Maintain a professional demeanor and confidentiality in sensitive situations
18. Develop and maintain positive working relationships within the organization
19. Ability to remain flexible with all types of general compliance tasks
