Overview

The Paralegal position will support the General Counsel. This is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure within the FinTech industry working alongside senior management. The Paralegal will be expected to operate in various capacities including legal, compliance, risk including Third-Party Risk Management and corporate administration. The ideal candidate must be energetic, detail oriented, work well under deadlines, and adaptive to a faced paced and exciting culture.

Responsibilities

  • Review, file, or respond to legal documents such as subpoenas, levies, garnishments, etc.
  • Update tracking systems to ensure the Company is compliant with any deadlines specific to legal proceedings.
  • Work with the General Counsel drafting, reviewing and distributing various agreements such as contracts, NDAs, and vendor agreements. Experience with M&A related documents a plus.
  • Manage new information, track litigation activities that may arise from time to time and address any ad-hoc activities or settlements.
  • Participate in the Third-Party Risk Management Group’s activities under the direction of the General Counsel and other stakeholders.
  • Participate in supporting the General Counsel in coordinating Outside Counsel initiatives.
  • Support General Counsel in Board Related Governance activities.
  • Assist with preparation of ad hoc presentations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a concentration in Paralegal Studies or equivalent experience required; paralegal certificate preferred but not required
  • Minimum 3 years administrative experience
  • Minimum 1-2 years with a Fintech, or financial services, preferred
  • Experience with drafting corporate resolutions, corporate documents, contracts, NDAs, responding to discovery, checking corporate status, and maintaining corporate status for entities to determine asset, ownership and business status.
  • Experience in M&A matters a plus

  • Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize projects and complete multiple tasks on schedule
  • Able to work productively under minimal supervision in a deadline and results-driven environment
  • Proactive team player able to work efficiently during periods of ambiguity
  • Ability to work effectively with colleagues at all levels across the organization
  • Highly organized, precise, proactive, and capable of shifting attention quickly and accurately from one matter to another
  • Personable and capable of developing and maintaining effective working relationships
  • Excellent verbal, written, and communication skillsStrong sense of accountability and attention to detail
