Summary: Responsible for accurately and efficiently processing financial transactions between customers and the Bank according to established policies and procedures. Provides quality customer service while handling routine customer inquiries and problems. Understands and promotes Bank products and services and refers customers to other departments as appropriate. Schedule may include Saturdays, holidays and may require travel to other branch locations.

Responsibilities: include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Receive and process a variety of transactions including, but not limited to, Bank products, withdrawals and loan payments. Verify amounts, balances and endorsements as required.
- Professionally answer phones calls promptly. Route and deliver messages as needed.
- Maintain adequate working funds as required by Bank policy. Verify and balance assigned cash drawer as appropriate with a minimal level of variances. Keep cash drawer balance below maximum limit.
- Issue official checks and money orders. Redeem savings bonds and receives loan payments.
- Explain and cross-sell Bank products and services and refer customer to other departments as appropriate.
- Count, verify and package coin and currency.
- Answer customer inquiries and discuss routine problems relating to Bank products.
- Ensure the teller station is properly stocked with forms and supplies.
- Work with supervisor to establish goals for development of abilities to sell and cross-sell products and services.
- Maintain working knowledge of branch equipment as appropriate (e.g., Recycler, Electronic Dispenser, ATM and Vault). Replenish and balance as needed.
- Balance ATM as applicable, proves deposits, maintains cash, receipts and envelopes.
- Processes night deposits.
- Prepare, scan and balance teller work through capture system.
- Prepare, complete, scan and index various Bank forms through CenterDoc.
- Process stop payments and holds.
- Ability to identify red flags on fraudulent and counterfeit transactions.
- Comply with all Bank policies, regulations and laws applicable to carrying out Teller duties and responsibilities.
- Meet or exceed established goals.
Education/Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent with cash handling and customer service experience.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to problem solve, prioritize tasks and meet required deadlines.
- Ability to use good, sound judgment in decision making.
- Ability to promote, sell and cross-sell Bank products and meet referral goals.
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, co-workers or vendors.
- Ability to write routine correspondence and communicate effectively and tactfully, orally and in writing with employees, customers, vendors and management.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

- Ability to accurately and quickly complete standard mathematical calculations.

- Strong analytic, organizational skills and attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and quality of work.
