About RinkNet

Objective:
 
We are looking for an experienced Product Manager - Hockey Content to oversee the collections, entry and distribution of critical, value-add information for clients of our proprietary amateur and professional hockey scouting software application, RInkNet. You will discover efficient ways to collect, organize, analyze and deliver diverse content including player information, team rosters, and league and tournament schedules.
 
A great product manager is able to fully grasp the fluid environment faced by our client coaches and scouts and the need for obtaining and delivering highly accurate content for a broad spectrum of users. You will also be able to lead and manage a team of content entry specialists to achieve high levels of accuracy in a time-sensitive way. The focus of this critical role is continually answering the following questions:

  • Did the client communicate the correct information to us?  
  • Did we understand what the client wanted?   
  • Did we deliver accurate/timely results?
  • Did we provide something repeatable, or was it one-off work?

 
The goal is to ensure our clients have the most up-to-date information to perform their duties and continue to make RinkNet the single best source of hockey scouting content.
 
Duties:

  • Devise and implement efficient and secure procedures for content collection, handling, analysis and distribution
  • Ensure content is delivered with high levels of accuracy in the most time efficient manner
  • Establish and foster a departmental mindset focused on a high attention to detail and productivity
  • Troubleshoot issues with content and seek solutions (short and long term)
  • Manage client and content expectations in a flexible and adaptable way under changing priorities
  • Manage, train and supervise content staff, both onsite and remote
  • Organize and improve department protocols and training materials
  • Onboard new department staff members
  • Monitor work logs and content tickets submitted by clients
  • Contact customers to verify that requests they have made for content have been completed
  • Assist staff where necessary to complete work and where deficiencies exist
  • Manage own portfolio of special tasks
  • Manage on site data collection events (coordinate staff and equipment
  • Evaluate protocols and suggest ways to make improvements
  • Evaluate staffing levels for various regions and make adjustments to regions and/or staff as necessary
  • Assist with the hiring process of new employees in the content group
  • Conduct regular meetings with the group and one-on-one with staff
  • Report content and client issues to management

 
Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a product manager focused on aggregating and delivering content
  • An analytical mindset with problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience and ability to manage, organize and motivate a team of staff
  • Background in content management,data entry or related skills
  • Experience working in the hockey industry
