General Functions: Operates multi-position switchboard Answers the switchboard and connects without delay Gives hospital information over the telephone Pages hospital staff members and physicians Relays incoming, outgoing, and interoffice telephone calls Contacts personnel on their pagers, by phone or Alpha Mate Encoder Monitors all Fire and Security Alarms Completes all forms required (i.e. Dr. Red, Code Blue) Resets alarms (between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m.) Relieves other operators in PBX for breaks and meals Utilizes resources efficiently and effectively Maintains safe environment Participates in Performance Improvement activities
