To learn more about Baptist Health, visit us at https://www.baptistfirst.org. The OR Scrub Technician shall be responsible to scrub on surgical procedures in all specialties. This individual will function as a member of the Surgical team. The Scrub Technician is responsible to set up assigned cases, maintain a sterile field, and count appropriate items used during surgical cases with the nurse. This position requires an understanding of the principles of aseptic technique, sterilization, and human anatomy. Additionally, the Scrub Technician shall perform a variety of tasks such as care of instruments, supplies, sutures, needles and basic equipment, as well as, stocking, cleaning, inventory, etc. The Scrub Technician must know policies and procedures pertaining to duties and be able to fulfill verbal and written instructions, and to adhere strictly to all OSHA guidelines, safety and infection control policies. This position may have additional duties assigned as needed.
- High school graduate or equivalent required. Has completed a certified technician program or acceptable on the job training program. License / Certification required: CST preferred, BLS required?
