What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sales Associate position at Barbizon Lighting Company?
Barbizon Lighting Company's Chicago, IL office is seeking a self-starter with a background in entertainment lighting to maintain new and existing customer relationships in a fast-paced and continually changing industry.
Responsibilities of the position include but not limited to:
- Collaborate with the client, evaluate their requirements, and offer suitable solutions whether it be boxed good sales or system development, design, and installation
- Proactive prospecting and outreach in an attempt to further drive and grow the business within assigned market verticals. This includes site visits, email & phone outreach, standard client visits
- Display & provide an extremely high level of customer/client service & support in all aspects of the job
- Cultivate customer leads furnished by website, manager, proactive outreach, trade shows, or any other available sources with the intention of turning the lead into a repeat client; creating a client for life
- Visit client leads at their location with the intent to:
- learn about and identify opportunities in the space
- get to know the client and their operations, build the relationship
- meet decision makers & key influencers
- conduct necessary site survey/visit for a developing or existing opportunity
- Follow up with prospective clients and clients with open quotes to answer questions & attempt to close the sale
- Work and communicate seamlessly between Barbizon Products & Expendables and Systems Integration on projects. This will be on an entry to intermediate project level for full system design
- Be able to demonstrate equipment with effective presentation skills for clients, trade shows, and community outreach
- Keep up with the latest in industry technology, trends, and approaches. Continuing education as appropriate
- Meet with vendors as they visit, look for ways to improve product knowledge and sales techniques, and collaborate on joint events when applicable
- Submit weekly reports to Sales Managers and attend weekly sales meetings
- Attend local tradeshows and other Barbizon-sponsored events
- Coordinate with the Sales Manager on creating and executing workshops and product demonstrations (in the office and in the field), and collaborate on creative ideas to build and attract business. through events, community outreach, etc
- Travel required
Qualified Candidates:
- Sales experience required
- BS, BFS, MFA, or other appropriate educational backgrounds
- Strong working knowledge of equipment and its application
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Computer proficiency
- Highly motivated
- Minimum two (2) years working with related equipment
