Job Purpose

The Payroll Manager ensures the efficiency and accuracy of total rewards including payroll, related taxes, retirement (401k), labor budgeting, and collaborates with the Human Resources team on Benefits, and Workers’ Compensation. Leads continuous improvement on Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) Metrics and reporting within global and local (payroll and employee master data) tools for the U.S. which includes 3 legal entities (BAI, BANY, Back to Nature, and support for Canada on payroll tools).

Key Accountabilities

• Lead, prepare, document and disburse market unit and expat payroll and taxes for the United States (leading 3 and supporting 2 Canadian legal entities)
• Ensure the labor budget is accurately reported and managed ($~70m labor budget)
• Evaluate current systems and recommend operating efficiency improvements utilizing all HRIS systems (payroll, 401k, etc.)
• Provide fiduciary responsibility for retirement plans (401k-$120m Assets) and oversight of co-fiduciary
• Prepare reporting to meet local, state, and federal reporting requirements (Affirmative Action, 5500 filing, workers comp, and insurance audits, etc.)
• Responsible for back office administration of one payroll systems for multiple legal entities (UKG)
• Ensure completion of Verification of Employment, wage garnishments, and other legal withholdings.
• Ensure the accuracy of data within the payroll systems integrating with HR Master data (UKG to SAP/SuccessFactors system)
• Continually improve data metrics reporting and analysis for the market unit and global company including equal pay analysis.
• Provide exceptional customer service building solid relationships with cross functional and global counterparts.
• Collaborate with Finance on monthly cash reconciliation, payroll accruals and reversals

Education/Work Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Business Management or related field
• Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred
• Minimum 5 years of experience in leading the payroll function
• Experience partnering with management and external suppliers in a team based and matrixed environment
• Track record of ability to handle duties of a confidential nature with accuracy, good judgment and discretion
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
• Excellent computer skills including data analysis and the MS Office, UKG as Preferred payroll experience, SuccessFactors experience preferred (other experience in SAP, Ultimate Software systems a plus).
• M&A experience a plus
