Job Summary Reporting to the Head of Corporate Communications, the Associate Director Internal Communications will develop and execute internal communications for Barings ensuring they support the image and aspirations of Barings brand and reputation globally. The ideal candidate will possess a laser-like focus on improving teammate engagement and experience and be responsible for driving bold, creative, strategic narratives and engaging content on the firm’s priorities, on what makes Barings a great place to work. You will create and execute consistent, integrated communications strategies to deliver the firm’s business mission, goals and promote community involvement and impact. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to collaborate across the firm, collaborating closely with Marketing, HR (including Talent Management and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion teams), Barings Social Impact, Sustainability, Legal, Compliance, and other areas, to drive strategic outcomes. You will have fluency with new and emerging communications tools, strategies, techniques; and a track record of operating at consistently high standards in a dynamic, constantly changing global business environment. Primary Responsibilities Design and implement a compelling employee-focused and business-oriented editorial strategy following a deep dive and intake from a variety of sources Develop engaging content to reach key audiences Work collaboratively with other content creators through the editing process to ensure that content to be is compelling and on-brand Surface and curate user-generated content from key business areas Oversee management of the content pipeline to deliver timely and relevant information and experiences across core channels Identify subject matter experts, internal influencers and support development of strategic content programs that spotlight employees and key initiatives Think vertically and horizontally about innovative and stakeholder-centric ways to deliver engaging content through all communications channels – internally, via social media and other digital properties Participate in the research, planning and implementation of internal campaigns and ongoing programs Responsible for key audience acquisition and engagement metrics using tools such as Poppulo Develop content for publishing or distribution – proof, format and tag articles and memos, select appropriate images or visual assets, and secure necessary approvals Help manage reactive requests with urgency and accuracy Help develop a deep knowledge of Barings business and value propositions for teammates, clients and investors Develop strong working relationships with all Communications and Marketing team members in the US, Europe and APAC to create operational synergies and efficiencies Ensure all confidential information, such as organizational announcements are handled properly and with discretion Drive content production and oversight of logistics for town halls, webcasts, our intranet site and other teammate forums Qualifications Bachelor’s degree, plus 5 years of relevant corporate communications, PR agency, consultancy, journalism and/or marketing experience Excellent verbal communication skills, particularly among team members, business partners and content creators Exceptional writing and editing abilities, including spelling and grammar skills, with an exceptional eye for detail. Financial Services experience. Asset management experience a plus. Innovative approach to content types – thinking beyond the written word to consider visual, video, audio, in-person experiences and more as possible channels Creative, results-oriented problem-solver with ability to operate across three time zones in a fast-paced environment with resilience, intellectual curiosity and adaptability Analytical thinking and ability to integrate input from multiple stakeholders while working to deadlines Proven ability to synthesize complex, at times esoteric financial institution materials and to craft creative, persuasive content for global audiences Strong project management and organizational skills with aptitude for managing simultaneous projects in a deadline-driven work environment An energetic team player and driven self-starter, with a positive mindset and excellent work ethic Ability to build strong relationships with senior stakeholders across the business Takes ownership and sees things through Proficient Microsoft Office Suite and Excel skills; advanced skills a plus Additional Qualifications Deep knowledge of industry-leading strategies and methodologies, including: Effective storytelling and content development and management Employee engagement and change communications Analytics and measurement Experience with communications tools (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, MS Office360, SharePoint, Poppulo) Experience working with outside consultants and other vendors; contract negotiation skills.
