User Experience Designer

We are searching for a UX Designer to join our growing Experience Design Team. The ideal candidate is a perfect blend of researcher, designer, and strategist who will serve as an advocate for the user throughout the lifecycle of every project. Leveraging human-centered design, they will conduct user research through a variety of methods and strategically translate findings into solutions that purposefully balance user and business needs.

Responsibilities:

• Work alongside UX Architects, UX Designers, Content Managers, Copywriters & Visual Designers in addition to Client Service, Project Management, Development and Digital Marketing teams to create purposeful digital experiences for our clients.
• Collaborate closely with clients throughout every project to identify the proper balance of user and client business needs.
• Conduct user research, including but not limited to informational interviews, contextual inquiry, focus groups, workshops and surveys.
• Work autonomously, and as part of a team.
• Demonstrate an aptitude for time management, organization, and communication.
• Translate user research, and client discovery findings into formal or informal or artifacts including but not limited to user personas, information architecture, sitemaps, user flows, navigation structures, paper prototypes, annotated wireframes, functional requirement documentation, content outlines/matrices, taxonomies/labeling, to support the digital strategy.
• Act as an advocate for the user, always.
• Collaborate with Content Strategists to ensure appropriate content is presented to the end user in a coherent, organized, and usable fashion.
• Collaborate with front-end and back-end developers to ensure desired feasibility.
• Utilize human-centered design methodologies to help clients solve problems and innovate on potential solutions.
• Plan and conduct usability testing and site-tree testing. Report findings and provide clear recommendations.
• Support the creation of documentation, reference materials, and necessary artifacts to guide internal development teams.
• Clearly and effectively present recommendations to clients both in-person and remote as necessary.
• Prep and facilitate client workshops to foster ideation, uncover key insights, and solve business problems through human-centered Design.
• Support the development of consistent internal processes and the standardization of all client-facing deliverables and artifacts.
• Maintain a current understanding of the latest industry and design trends.

Requirements

• Minimum of three years experience in UX.
• Bachelor’s degree in User Experience, Human-Computer Interaction, Web Design, Psychology, or another equivalent.
• Excellent writing, interpersonal, communication skills, and presentation skills.
• Comfortable speaking and presenting to various audiences including C-suite executives.
• Extremely outgoing, personable, and positive attitude toward colleagues and
  clients. Attitude is everything.
• Impeccable attention to detail.
• Solid understanding of Responsive Web Design, various frameworks, content management systems, and the technical constraints associated with each.
• Strong conceptual and brainstorming skills.
• Experience designing accessible products that uphold WCAG standards.
• Strong knowledge of user-centered design principles and usability assessment methods.
• Ability to pivot quickly from high-level strategic thinking to tactical execution.
• Driven to learn new skills, share knowledge and mentor other teammates.
• Proficient in Axure, Sketch, Invision, Slickplan, Gather Content, Optimal Workshop, Usertesting.com, and other relevant design and testing tools.
• Strong portfolio of work that demonstrates an in-depth knowledge of UX Design, and how you have successfully implemented it for clients.

• Experience working with Higher Education clients
• Masters Degree in User Experience, Human-Computer Interaction or equivalent
• Strong working knowledge of Atomic Design methodology and creating comprehensive Digital Design Systems and style guides
