Bainbridge Artisan Resource Network (BARN) is a community makerspace and learning place for all ages. BARN’s mission is to grow and inspire a creative community through craft, learning, and service.
The mission of the youth coordinator is to make BARN a good place for young people. The person selected will have considerable influence in defining a good place for young people and determining how to execute this mission.
This is a half-time position during the school year, with some evening and weekend presence required, and a full-time position in summer.
Responsibilities :
Execute existing youth programs (Teen Night, Youth Maker Monday, Summer Youth)
Evaluate and improve existing programs
Increase participation and registration by young people at BARN overall
Increase BARN membership rates by young people
Clarify and redevelop policies related to young people and BARN’s core value of inclusivity
Help studios create opportunities for young people at BARN
Strengthen or create ties with local organizations whose missions align with BARN’s to develop and deliver creative opportunities for young people
Qualifications :
Passion for and understanding of arts education for young people and BARN’s mission
Comfort with technology and systems; willingness and ability to learn new technologies quickly
Communicator and influencer; ability to get people aligned to execute goals, programs, and plans
Ability to both work at big-picture level and execute details
Child safety screening / background check required
Hours
20 hours / week mid-August - mid-June including some weekends / evenings; 40 hours / week mid-June - mid-August.

$22-$27 / hour depending on experience
