Job Overview:
56 bed Level III NICU with an amazing team of knowledgeable nurses who provide care for very low birth weight and full-term infants. Strong multi-disciplinary approach to QI, strong family advisory counsel, and very active unit-based practice council plus unit-based committees. Team Daisy and Infection Control award recipient.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing
- Completion of all orientation requirements of CBMC
- Successful completion of all orientation programs
Preferred:
- Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing
Certifications and Licenses Required:
- Current Registered Nurse License in the state of New Jersey
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
- NRP certification or completion of its requirements within 90 days of hire to the unit
- I.V. certification from an approved facility or completion of those requirements preferred
Scheduling Requirements:
- Full-time
- Evening/Night shift
- 37.5 hrs weekly
- 12.5 hr Shifts
Essential Functions:
Organize and administer individualized age-specific professional care to patients within an assigned unit of the hospital in support of medical care. Supports philosophy, objectives along with the mission and vision of Saint Barnabas Medical Center and the Department of Nursing. Practices in accordance with the N.J. State Nurse Practice Act, American Nurses Association Standards of Practice, Code of Ethics for Nurses, Department of Health Regulations, TJC requirements and other regulatory agencies. Participates in patient teaching and discharge planning. Participates in unit Performance Improvement evaluation and activities.
