Barnes Aerospace West Chester OEM is seeking an Assembly Operator. In this role you will inspect and repair aircraft components using alloy material. This position requires considerable attention to detail to produce the highest level of quality and productivity against established standards. Core Responsibilities:
- Job requires major attention to the detailed requirements of alloy application and standard process procedures.
- Notify Engineering or Quality organizations for unusual part conditions that may be observed.
- Tack weld materials to parts.
- Perform checks for dimensions using gages and calipers, making necessary adjustments.
- Responsible for maintaining material traceability for materials or powders applied to parts.
- Applies stop-off to keep alloy in place during brazing process and operates the equipment associated with the application of powder or paste alloy to parts.
- Complete paperwork required to document the quality of parts completed.
- Must be able to calculate powder ratios to make correct powder blends.
- Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of related experience in a production/shop position, preferably in aerospace environment.
- Must be able to read and interpret operation sheets and follow complex instructions and/or directions.
- Ability to operate with high attention to detail, good hand to eye co-ordination and dexterity.
- Capable of multitasking different aspects of the job.
- Able to communicate effectively both verbally and / or in writing with other employees, team members and supervision as necessary.
Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
