What are the responsibilities and job description for the NC Programmer position at Barnes Group?
Core Responsibilities:
- Programs and operates a variety of CNC machines including 3,4 & 5-Axis mills and lathes including setting up, loading parts and machining them
- Uses and interprets complicated prints, drawings and process sheets
- Uses all types of inspection and measuring devices to check and verify parts
- Develop manufacturing procedures for prototype and production.
- Monitor production efficiency to identify any improvements in programs.
- Assist with inspection in interpret dimensions, flag notes, process requirements, material specifications from drawings.
- Report production results/status to management.
Qualifications:
- Five years’ experience programming and operating CNC machines in a manufacturing environment preferably manufacturing aerospace parts using titanium, Inconel and stainless steel. Laser experience preferred.
- Fluent in NX (Unigraphics) modeling and experience with CAM software required.
- Must have experience interpreting all types of engineering drawing and documents.
- Must be able to communicate effectively and interact with all manufacturing and engineering personnel.
- Must have well-developed analytical, reasoning, problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Computer literacy required.
- Job requires being reliable, responsible, and dependable, and fulfilling obligations.
Education Requirements:
- Associates Degree or three to five years of related experience with appropriate vocational training required.
