Core Responsibilities:
- Responsible for key technical aspects of program/project management in support of initial estimation, through NPI launch and release to production. The individual will provide general project oversight, as well as detailed process engineering and estimating support as required.
- Analyze customer engineering drawings and documentation for materials, process and quality elements.
- Develop a manufacturing process from concept through first article delivery.
- Oversee the application of all engineering support activities in the preparation and production of customer parts.
- Create, update and maintain operation sequence sheets for either new orders, or in support of process improvements.
- Assist in the concept design of required tools and gages, support changes to existing tools and fixture as improvements are identified.
- Engineering change reviews including: identification of cost reduction or increases; identification of tooling modifications identification required; determination on use of existing components - usable or obsolete to requirements and specification; and creation of new job numbers; respond to requests of information to the customer base; implementation coordination; and fourth shift updates (ERP system).
- Create Repair procedures for non-conforming product and customer returns.
- Plan, organize and direct the activities of the outside service and design staff as required to meet established timelines.
- Ensure that all manufacturing special processes and tooling conform to customer, organizational, and governmental standards.
- Assist in responding to Request for Quotations (RFQs).
- Provide the necessary technical support to sales, manufacturing and quality functions.
- Assist with the development of new manufacturing processes and the revision of existing processes to facilitate the improved manufacturing of parts.
- Keep current on manufacturing technologies, plant layout, inspection and processes.
- Understand use of Lean Manufacturing tools and integration into process development.
Qualifications:
- 10-15 years of related experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in aerospace.
- Project leadership experience preferred
- Proficient in 3D Modeling and Unigraphics NX highly preferred
- Understanding of traditional machining processing of parts
- Proven track record of scheduling and organizing people and time effectively in order to complete assigned functions.
- Proficient at reading, analyzing and interpreting aerospace specifications procedures and standards.
- Excellent computer and data analysis skills; proficient in Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
