Project Manager

SUMMARY:
The Project Manager , reporting to the Director, Project Management Office (PMO), leads multidisciplinary project teams, providing direction, drive, and coordination of both regional and enterprise-initiated projects. Projects may range from onboarding new customers to operations process improvement projects. 
 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversees all aspects of project management, including scheduling, budgeting, setting deadlines, assigning responsibilities, monitoring, and summarizing project progress.
• Works with business units to understand and document project objectives, scope, requirements, milestone, deliverables, schedule and cost estimates.
• Monitors and controls each project by tracking, reviewing, and communicating progress to project stakeholders and team members using such tools as status reports, risk registers, issue log, and decision and action item trackers.
• Prepares for and leads project team meetings including creation and distribution of meeting agendas and meeting notes.
• Develops and applies change management strategies and communications plans to ensure stakeholders and team members are informed, bought-in, and support expected project outcomes.
• Provides regular, professional, and appropriate communications to project team members, department heads, and senior leadership. 
• Proactively identifies, tracks, and resolve issues, risks and dependencies. Communicates risks and issues to the project team and senior leadership. Identifies and implements issue resolutions. Leads risk management identification and mitigation plans.
• Effectively utilizes project management systems to track and communicate progress.
• Produces high quality deliverables under tight deadlines.
• Effectively motivates and persuades others to meet project milestones.
• Participates in continual process improvement efforts within the PMO.
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned.  
• Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.

EDUCATION:
College-level education in Project Management, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or other relevant area or 8 years of equivalent work experience required.
PMP or similar certification preferred 
Lean Six Sigma certification preferred 
 

EXPERIENCE: 
3 to 5 years’ work experience in the 3rd party logistics (3PL) sector and/or warehousing industries
1 to 3 years’ experience successfully managing operations projects from conception through implementation, including work planning, estimating/budgeting, resource planning, risk assessment, expectation management, scope, and issue management
Advanced problem solving, analysis and troubleshooting skills to proactively identify potential “problem areas” early in the process; develop creative strategies to overcome obstacles 
Working knowledge of Windows applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project) 
Strategic and innovative mindset, with the desire to act quickly, think critically, challenge the status quo, create innovative solutions, and drive transformation.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to translate complex concepts into terms and format appropriate for the audience. 
Must demonstrate high level of interpersonal skills with ability to work well under pressure and problem solve across a variety of business processes
Able to balance competing priorities, complex situations, and tight deadlines.  Strong emphasis on organizational skills and attention to detail.
