What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping/Receiving Coordinator 6:00AM-4:30PM Monday-Thursday position at Barrett Distribution Centers?
SUMMARY:
The Shipping/Receiving Coordinator, under the direct supervision of the Warehouse Supervisor, performs administrative duties in the Shipping/Receiving Department(s).
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Serve as single point of contact for all carriers, client support specialist, routing coordinator and/or any other relevant parties regarding deliveries and pick-ups.
- Check in/out all drivers; informs drivers of assigned door and explain dock safety procedures.
- Monitor all inbound and outbound shipments to ensure they are received and/or loaded out and in a timely fashion.
- Ensure all inbounds/outbounds are recorded in the Shipping/Receiving Log.
- Work with warehouse management system or other applicable software to print BOL’s and check order completion etc.
- Ensure all required documentation and system transactions (electronically and/or manually) are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Provide to Operations leadership an end of day wrap-up communication containing pertinent information regarding any issues relating to open orders.
- Escalate operational issues to facility management in a timely and efficient manner
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
High school diploma or GED strongly preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of one (1) year of practical work in a warehouse, receiving, or dispatch environment.
HazMat receiving and shipping experience preferred.
Proficient in all Microsoft business applications such as Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Working knowledge of WMS system preferred
Ability to read, write and communicate in English (Bilingual Spanish/English skills preferred).
Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Experience must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to balance competing priorities, complex situations, and tight deadlines. Strong emphasis on organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines and the ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
