Job Summary

Midland Asphalt Materials Inc., a subsidiary of Barrett Industries Corporation, provides advanced pavement preservation solutions for our customers’ needs.

We are currently looking for a Chipper Operator for our PA operations.

Main Responsibilities

• Primarily operating Chipper Spreader. May operate other equipment as needed such as : graders, pavers, compactors, loaders, rollers, sweepers and water trucks
• Perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment
• Ensure cleanliness of assigned equipment and work area
• Utilize tools associated with Full Depth Reclamation and / or Chip Seal activities such as rakes, shovels and brooms

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Driver's License and good driving record
• Possession of valid CDL is preferred
• Wears and maintains personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by Company safety guidelines
• Regularly required to lift and / or move up to 50 pounds with or without assistance
• Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
• Standing / working on feet for long periods, and walking across uneven terrain
• Frequent exposure to loud noise
• Regularly exposed to all outdoor weather conditions, dust, and airborne particles
• Regularly exposed to extended periods of physical activity in extreme heat
• Regularly exposed to fuel, oil, and other chemicals
• Required to work varying hours, including nights / weekends, and overnight travel with overnight stays
