HUMAN RESOURCES COORDINATOR

This is a non-supervisory full-time position. The Human Resources Coordinator is accountable for the safety, quality, and efficiency of their work. The Human Resources Coordinator reports directly to the Human Resources Manager.

 

ABOUT THE COMPANY

Barricades Unlimited is a Traffic Control company with 8 locations around the State of Texas. Currently, there are approximately 175 employees across the State that you will be responsible to ensure all HR needs are being met. When you drive around and you see orange cones, barrels, construction signs, big orange pickups and giant trucks with flashing lights, you are likely seeing one of our fleet of hundreds of vehicles. EDUCATION

           

Required: Bachelor's Degree in Management or Business or minimum 4 years experience in a Human Resources role

           

 LICENSING / REGISTRATION / CERTIFICATION

 Required:  Valid Texas Driver’s License

  7. Ability to take direction from the Human Resources Manager

  10. Must be extremely competent in all Microsoft Office products.
  11. Must have a strong attention to detail and ensure that all completed work is correct and on time
  12. Must have strong and effective communications skills to include verbal, written, electronic and telephone communication.

PHYSICAL

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

BODY POSITIONS: Must have the ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time while performing job functions. Must be able to walk distances within the multiple buildings within the complex. Must be able to spend many hours performing your tasks on a computer

BODY MOVEMENTS:  The employee must have a full range of body movements including the use of his/her hands to finger, handle plant equipment and tools, laptop, PC’s and other peripheral equipment. The ability to bend the body, to reach for objects, and to crouch when needed is also required.

BODY SENSES:  The employee must have command of the following senses: sight, hearing, and touch.

STRENGTH:  The employee must have the ability to lift 25 pounds with regularity.

 

 

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

This position requires the employee to work indoors in a smoke-free, climate-controlled environment.

 

AUTHORITY

The Human Resources Coordinator is authorized to take any reasonable action necessary to carry out the responsibilities assigned approved or delegated by the Human Resources Manager.  Such authority may include:

Report any abuse of the Company’s policies and procedures to Supervisor or other members of Management.

Authority to enforce the Company’s Safety Policies, and authority to fulfill all responsibilities turn over to you.

 

 

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Assist with HR Inquiries: Handle internal and external HR inquiries and requests.
  2. Manage Employee Records: Maintain both electronic and hard copy employee records, ensuring confidentiality.
  3. Support Recruitment: Participate in recruiting efforts, including creating job postings, screening candidates, and assisting with interview scheduling.
  4. Facilitate Onboarding: Assist in new hire orientations and onboarding processes for new employees.
  5. Work with HR Manager to implement employee discipline and terminations.
  6. Handle Clerical Tasks: Perform various clerical duties such as data entry, filing, email communication, faxing, and scanning for the HR department.
  7. Document Management: Compile and distribute reports and documents as requested by HR Manager or other management members.
  8. Background Checks: Assist in running MVR checks. Oversee drug screening for new applicants and mange the random drug screening program throughout the company.
  9. Benefits Administration: Work with HR Manager in administering employee health and welfare benefit plans, including enrollments, changes, and terminations.
  10. Inventory Management: Maintain inventory of uniform shirts and other necessary items.
  11. Customer Service: Maintain a high standard of customer service while interacting with employees in person, via email, and over the phone.
  12. Safety Concerns: Promptly notify the HR Manager of any quality or safety-related concerns.
  13. Communication: Keep the HR Manager informed about ongoing activities and updates.
  14. Independence: Perform duties independently with minimal supervision.
  15. Confidentiality: Handle confidential matters with the utmost discretion and maintain the confidentiality of HR-related information.
  16. Continuous Improvement: Continuously seek opportunities to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of duties and responsibilities, embodying the principle of "Acting Like an Owner."
  17. Additional Assignments: Undertake all other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Human Resources Manager.

 

 

 

MEASURES OF PERFORMANCE

The Human Resources Coordinator shall be deemed to be performing in an acceptable manner when the following have been accomplished:

  1. The Human Resources Manager is kept informed of daily activity
  2. HR files are maintained in proper manner and hiring procedures are followed
  3. Human Resources inquiries through email, phone or fax, both internal and external, are responded to quickly and appropriately.
  4. When assisting with Payroll, ensure tasks are completed timely and accurately
  5. Attendance and participation at Company Meetings
  6. Other tasks assigned by the Human Resources Manager are performed in an accurate, complete, and timely manner
