Cortez - Growth Geologist

Responsibilities:

• Ability to identifying lithology, alteration and mineralogy associated with gold systems
• Work with the Cortez Growth Team to develop resource and reserve opportunities
• Target development and definition drilling
• Plan and lead drilling programs
• Collection of geologic data, mapping, sampling, RC chip and core logging
• Ensure data integrity and implementation of QAQC procedures
• Data synthesis, compilation, and geologic interpretation to support targeting
• Support drill program execution and ensure zero harm
• Deliver regular progress reports and presentations, ensure key stake holders are kept up to date on project progress
• Provide input for geotechnical, metallurgical, and hydrologic studies
• Interpret ATV/OTV televiewer data and apply to drill targeting
• Prepare and presents annual budget material
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Bachelors of Science degree in Geology or Geological Engineering required
• A minimum of (3) years of experience in mining geology preferred
• Ability to use standard geological computer packages required
• Demonstrated ability to perform essential functions of position required
• Experience with Leapfrog, Acquire, WellCAD or other mining software preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs required
• Ability to demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills required
• Ability to work within a team environment and excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills required
• Ability to take initiative on projects and work independently required
• High level of organization and attention to detail required
• Demonstrated commitment to a safe work culture, ability to work safely, and completion of projects in an environmentally responsible manner required
• Ability to follow company policies and procedures and ensure fellow employees/contractors follow company policies and procedures required
