Job Description: As the Engineering Leader for BW Papersystems, you will play a crucial role in planning and executing various strategic development initiatives, providing cross-functional support, and managing customer interactions. Additionally, you will have direct leadership responsibility for the engineering personnel. Key Responsibilities: Lead mechanical, electrical design, and software engineering teams, overseeing both new and legacy product lines. Coordinate and manage engineering activities to support manufacturing, supply chain, and technical service groups. Collaborate with engineering, ongoing product improvement, and operations teams to enhance safety, quality, service, performance, and productivity. Engage with engineering teams and customers to address and resolve trending issues and customer concerns promptly. Provide support to the service team in identifying root causes and developing countermeasures for customer issues. Offer oversight for production issues post-release and provide global technical support. Develop engineering standards and processes, drive cost reduction activities, and advocate for the utilization of Lean tools and culture within the engineering department. Analyze current processes for internal and external customer support and develop plans to address areas of improvement. Support the field service team by leading root cause problem identification and designing effective countermeasures for quick resolution of customer issues. Coordinate and direct projects to fulfill customer requirements. Plan, direct, and coordinate the professional development of the engineering team, implementing policies and procedures related to custom designs for the company's highly technological product lines. Embody and promote the guiding principles of leadership and leadership fundamentals and practices. Foster a culture of continuous improvement in alignment with Lean manufacturing principles. Perform other duties as assigned. Competencies: Ability to develop and execute detailed goals and project plans that align with the company's vision. Strong project management skills are essential. Demonstrated ability to initiate and drive systemic improvement and cost reduction activities. Proficiency in applying structured problem-solving approaches to address complex processes, equipment, and manufacturing issues. Strong technical and analytical skills with experience in design for manufacturability. Proven leadership skills and the ability to effectively lead a team of technical professionals while fostering team cohesiveness and embracing the organizational culture. Thorough understanding of operational requirements based on third-party standards such as OSHA, UL, and CE. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to independently solve problems while interacting with individuals at all levels of the organization in a professional manner. Proficiency in MS Office, MRP, and CAD systems. Ability to multitask, maintain a positive attitude, and be adaptable and flexible throughout the workday.
