As an Assistant Hospitality Manager you will be managing a housekeeping team and reporting to the local Hospitality Manager. Your focus will be on delivering clean, well-prepared rooms - which are the lifeblood of Barsala’s business. Objectives
- Assist the onsite Hospitality Manager as needed
- Assist in maintaining a positive guest experience
- Assist in overseeing the cleaning staff to ensure rooms are always properly cleaned, prepared and stocked with consumables prior to guest arrivals
Responsibilities
- Assist in managing a team of three to eight housekeepers
- Interview, hire, and train housekeepers
- Ensure that the building’s 150 rooms are always properly cleaned, prepared and stocked with consumables prior to guest arrival
- Ensure that cleanings are assigned properly and timely
- Perform inspections of all rooms prior to guest arrival to ensure that preparations meet the Barsala standard
- On a daily basis, monitor cleanliness scores, verbatim feedback, and completion rates
- Purchase room preparation supplies and maintain order in the storage area
- Review payroll for housekeeping
Qualifications
- Spanish language skills a plus
- Within 20 minutes commuting distance to the building
- Experience managing housekeeping
- Enthusiasm for delivering incredible guest experiences
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays
- Passion for working within systems
- Desire to be part of a team working towards a common goal
- Exceptional real-time, problem-solving skills
- Outstanding communication abilities
- Ability to stand, stoop, bend and lift items weighing up to 25 pounds repetitively (for new apartment set up and inventory management)
- Experience in hospitality or hotel operations
