Position Description: Under the direction of the Director of Management Information Systems, the Systems Analyst will focus on efficiently providing support for application, OS and hardware issues. This position covers delivery of end-user support services including installation, troubleshooting, user assistance and training. The Systems Analyst provides assistance with administering and maintaining the integrity of institution computer systems. Furthermore, the Systems Analyst is responsible for participating in reviewing, testing and documentation of student lab technology and is involved with supporting all application software and hardware for college users including but not limited to the administration, faculty, staff, and students. This position is responsible in part for system level maintenance, both on a hardware and software level. Position Responsibilities: 5.00% - Performs other duties as needed or assigned. 25.00% - Primary focal point on assigned systems to develop, coordinate the implementation of, and test plan to continue establishing end user systems procedures and policies. Installs, inventories, upgrades, and configures end user hardware, printing and software. 25.00% - Troubleshoots production problems and provides technology support to instructors in the classroom. Performs application software upgrade installations as required and provided by technology vendors. 15.00% - Performs routine, day-to-day technology maintenance as assigned, and assists in proper upkeep and utilization of technology. 15.00% - Use ticketing system for assignment of task, providing updates to customer and developing knowledge base. Provides general and in-depth technical guidance, assistance, and maintenance support to end users, as requested, on diverse technology applications, both hardware and software. 10.00% - Maintains a high standard of customer service in dealing with and responding to questions. 5.00% -
Work non-standard hours to limit disruption to college technology. Expectations: 1. Provides advanced technical assistance, support, and troubleshooting in the resolution of technological issues. 2. Consult with Director of Management Information Systems weekly to provide updates and progress reports. 3. Have a functioning smart phone and high speed internet access. In addition, this position is required to also have a functional assigned college cell phone to manage after non-standard hours issues and monitor security systems 4. Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of personnel and work in a team environment, without close supervision. 5. Ability to install and configure technology systems, hardware, and peripherals. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Experience - Six months to two years of similar or related experience. Education - A high school education or GED. Interpersonal Skills -
Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the college for purposes of giving or obtaining information, building relationships, or soliciting cooperation. Other Skills - Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. Ability to diagnose and rectify a wide range of computer hardware and software problems. Knowledge of a wide range of computer systems software, applications, hardware, networking, and communications. Physical Requirements: The work requires considerable physical exertion such as infrequent climbing of ladders, frequent lifting of heavy objects over 50 pounds with repetitive bending, crouching or stooping. Job requires above-average agility and dexterity. Regular exposure to favorable conditions such as those found in a normal office or classroom. Wages/Other:
The starting hourly wage for this position is $17.87 to $20.12.
