BASF Corporation is seeking a Coatings Process Leader (Southfield, MI) to support the daily operation of BASF coatings products in customer automotive assembly plants by providing on-site technical and application oversight. Respond to customer requirements, enforce product quality/performance specification, and support new product/application development. Oversee product performance including color management, defect identification, process root causing and corrective actions implementation. Develop and support key customer relationships. Support the efforts of a BASF sales/technical team to assure value to the customer for product technical support, problem investigation, analysis, and resolution. Assure product performance meets or exceeds customer expectations and supports business growth objectives to be our customer’s supplier of choice. Control key performance indicators within product service environments to drive problem resolution and product improvement initiatives critical to customer performance expectations. Use ability to train and mentor members of the team to ensure the customer is receiving the best possible service. Manage 6 Field Technical Service Representatives. 15% domestic travel required. Telecommuting permitted.

If you...
- Requires a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related field and 5 years of experience in OEM Paint Application. Must have the following experience: All phases of the automotive paint application process, quality, customer focus and manufacturing; Providing on-site expertise of coatings products, their application, performance and problem resolution when needed; Implementing action plans, tracking and updating customer metrics, and managing future plant production and new product introduction; and Inventory, Forecast, Billing and Ordering Management for a CPU (cost per unit) business model. 15% domestic travel required. Telecommuting permitted.
