The BASF Performance Materials business responds quickly to customer needs, without cutting corners to sacrifice safety or quality. The business services a wide range of customers in many different markets from automotive, construction, refrigeration, appliances, etc. The operators within the Clemson Site must adapt to change safely, quickly, and efficiently while maintaining the highest quality requirements. The Operator III manufactures blended resin systems for foam application to meet our customer needs.
Shift hours: 5am – 1:30pm, 1pm – 9:30pm, and 9pm – 5:30am (shift rotates every two weeks)
During your time as an Operator III you will…
- Use product recipes to produce blended resin systems in multiple blend vessels including the PSM process.
- Use interface screens to the process control system to add exact quantities of chemicals to match product recipes, follow step-by-step batch instructions, and take samples as required.
- Load drums, totes, cylinders, and tank trucks with the final product and unload raw materials via rail car to bulk storage, tank truck to bulk storage tank, tank truck to tote, and box vans of drums & totes following standard operating procedures.
- Be an integral part of the site’s safety culture. Be responsible for certain areas of the plant from a safety and housekeeping perspective. Be required to master a certain number of standard operating procedure.
- Train in Department of Transportation (DOT). Must be able to understand hazard communication and DOT/OSHA requirements for chemical transportation, storage, and handling as well as being a trained HAZMAT team member and FORKLIFT certified.
- Understand how to use personal protective equipment to perform all necessary job functions within the process.
