Where the Chemistry Happens… Lead Material Handler (2103441) – Southfield, MI Perform tasks and lead associates associated with receipt, movement, storage, and shipment of raw materials, intermediate and finished products. To ensure that all materials are handled in a cost-effective manner for a timely delivery and to meet customer deadlines. Maintain zero incident mindset and ensure safety compliance of personnel and contractors. Maintain inventory, quality and safety while servicing internal and external customers. Additional responsibilities are as follows: Develop Written Work Instructions Develop inventory control procedures Operation of all material handling equipment Participate on team or lead team on material handling procedures Perform Receiving procedures and methods SAP receiving/transactions functions Main contact for BASF India labs for material requests: Coordinate order, instruct warehouse staff to pour off materials requested, enter shipping requests, monitor process from beginning to end using Excel Manage Certificate of Analysis and SAP QM processes for incoming materials Monitor the Red Label Room email box Conduct annual or semi-annual Frequently Ordered Material (FOM List) meetings and processes to ensure current inventory needs are met Perform procedure and methods of staging materials for production and returning materials from production to stock Adhere to safety laws and regulations Coordination and planning of workflow Perform and document inspections for housekeeping and safety equipment Special projects as needed
Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent
Ingredients for Success: What We Look For In You… Basic Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED Minimum 1 year experience with chemical handling Preferred Qualifications: 6 years of inventory control experience within a warehouse setting Outside training or college sponsored courses beneficial Basic math, writing and computer skills are needed Strong interpersonal skills for interfacing with vendors and supplier Strong attention to detail Strong organization skills Proficiency with MS Excel BASF recognizes institutions of higher education accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent.
